This morning started nice and early. I attempted to catch the sunrise but it was cloudy to the east. On the other hand, I did get to see a lot of the fishing boats leave the island to head out. That was pretty neat. Most of them were small boats that only had two or three people in it.
This used to be a poorly written blog about touring with Mamma Mia, Now it is just a poorly written blog about other stuff...

I can't Belize I ate it all!
Lobster Fest...
After relaxing for a bit to get down to the island speed, I headed into 'town' where the motto is 'Go Slow'. It was tough to do at first, but after some practice, I think I am getting better. I rode my bicycle in and found a coconut tree to lock it up at. Then I started to wander around. I started about halfway up the island and headed north towards the 'Split'. Lobster Fest is the opening of Lobster season in Belize. The festival started Caye Caulker about 20 years ago and has spread into a three-weekend long party. One weekend on the mainland, one weekend at Caye Caulker and another at San Pedro. By pure timing luck, I booked my trip to Caye Caulker the same weekend as their Lobster Fest.

Better Belize It!
Don't worry, I have many more puns coming at you.
Yesterday started with a 4am wake-up call because I had the bright idea of booking myself a 6am flight. It ended up all being worth it though. The first part of the journey was like any other travel day. Get up, get in the cab, wander around LaGuardia, buy a newspaper and then wait and watch everyone try to push themselves onto an oversold flight not realizing that they are not going to take off until everyone is on board. No need to push. My flight to Atlanta was very uneventful. I landed and transferred over to the international terminal to find out that I was bumped up to first class. Not a bad way to travel.

Korean vs. Japan, simple version
I now know the main difference between Korean and Japan...
Korea looked at the mountains and said, 'Those are beautiful mountains, but I know going uphill is hard. Let's put our palace here, in the valley. Let's only build a wall through the mountains, it will be easier that way'. Then later on, as cities started to pop up, the Koreans put roads and subways relatively close to these palaces and said, 'People might want to visit these someday, let's make it easy'.
Japan looked at the mountains and said, 'Those are beautiful mountains, I know going uphill is difficult but I don't care. We should put all of our temples up there. Yes, I know the materials are going to be heavy, but it's not like we are going to lift anything, amirite? Let's make all those poor people that live in our kingdom do the dirty work'. Then later on, as cities started to pop up, the Japanese let private companies decide where the railroads went and didn't say anything when the subways did not go anywhere near these old treasures of Japan. In fact, I think the Japanese said, and I might be paraphrasing, 'People might want to visit these someday, F**k 'em, they have two legs. They can walk''.
Long story short, I climbed every mountain today and walked 98 miles or 4,000 kilometers. I think that is how the conversion goes.
One more thing, Korea, stop making your money out of tissue paper. I ripped my won today...

Why No Pictures?
I haven't put many pictures up as I am not traveling with a computer and therefore cannot get most of the photos out onto the interwebs. They are trapped in the digital vault that is my camera. Don't worry, I will update all of the posts with photos once I get access to them, probably in a little over a week. Until then, use your imagination...
Moeller goes back to School
I think today was one of the best days of the trip so far. I was lucky enough to go in and witness a day at Mike's elementary school in Waegwan.
